Industrial Tour 2022

KLS IMER organized National Level Industry Tour to the state of Gujarat from 9th to 15th October 2022 for second-year MBA students. The students and faculty members got an opportunity to visit the Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union (Amul), headquartered at Anand, and learned about the products and production process. Ms. Hima Shah, PRO of Amul explained the history of Amul Dairy and the plant operations. The industry tour also included a visit to the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahemdabad, an autonomous body and not-for-profit institute which promotes Entrepreneurship education across India and abroad. Dr. Neha Sharma, CEO-Centre for Advancing and Launching Enterprises (CrAdLE) conducted a session on the role of Technology Business Incubation to nurture Startups. Tour included a visit to Gandhi Ashram and Sabarmati River Front including the newly inaugurated Atal Foot Overbridge in Ahemdabad. Exploring various places in Kevadia like the Statue of Unity, Jungle Safari, etc., was an amazing opportunity to understand the growing tourism industry. Students visited various heritage sites besides academic learning like Hutheesing Jain Temple, Adalaj Stepwell, and Akshardham Temple. Throughout the tour, students enjoyed Gujarati delicacies like Jalebi-fafda, Dhokla, Kathiawadi Thali, etc. The entire tour was full of experiential learning as emphazied in New Education Policy 2020.

The tour was coordinated by Dr. Shailaja Hiremath and Prof. Shreekant Naik. Prof. Rahul Mailcontractor and Prof. Sumant Desai also accompanied the tour. Dr, Arif Shaikh, Director, and Shri R S Mutalik-Chairman Governing Council KLS IMER appreciated the successful conclusion of the tour.

Industrial Tour 2015

Institute organized One Day in-plant interaction with HR team at Tata Marcopolo Motors Limited (TMML) Plant, Dharwad on 23^rd November 2015 for final year students of HR specialization. The students were taken to plant tour to understand the bus assembly, body building, paint section and the dispatch section. Mr. MSRK Prasad, Head - Human Resources, TMML and his team explained the detailed functioning of HR department and the students learnt about various issues in real time implementation of HR practices. The industrial visit to TMML was an enriching experience for HR students in getting live exposure of manufacturing company and its HR practices. Mrs. Shailaja G. Hiremath, Faculty, KLS IMER, Belagavi coordinated the visit.
