KLS' IMER organized "6th Mr. Gladiator - 2020", KLS Inter Institutional Top-10 Body Building Competition in association with BDBBA at KLS IMER campus held recently, to encourage upcoming body builders of Karnatak Law Society's institutions. The main purpose behind organizing this competition is to promote fitness and gym culture among the students and to motivate them to participate in internal and external body building competition.

Management students of KLS IMER visited Dana Fairfield Atlas Ltd, Shinoli on 23rd January, 2020 to understand the export procedure and its documentation. Dana Fairfield India started its operations in year 2019 by overtaking the Atlas Gears Private Limited and is specialized in machining gears, ring gears, heat treating, shafts, painting, live testing, tool room and planetary assemblies.

KLS IMER Conducted IT Literacy Camp in Rural Areas of Belagavi

KLS IMER conducted an IT Literacy Camp for one day on 17th Jan 2020 to educate students of Rural Government Schools about usage of Computers and Basic Computer Skills as a part of Institute’s Social Responsibility. IT team with 21 students visited rural places like Uchagaon and Kallehol covering three schools and interacted with the rural students and staff and trained them on basic applications of computers. Around 300 students with 10 staff were benefited by this Event.

IMER students expedite a Unique Visit to Traffic Management

KLS IMER students visited South Traffic Police Station, Camp, Belagavi on 6th January, 2020. The visit aimed to have an understanding on working of traffic management system and be socially aware about changes in traffic rules, working system and its effective implementation. Students had the opportunity to witness live demonstration of traffic surveillance through 120 cameras spread across entire Belagavi City. Prof. Ajay Jamnani coordinated the event.

Donation of old newspapers to Shantai Vidyaadhar Project

Centre for Ethics and Social Responsibility, KLS IMER Belagavi organized an activity for first year MBA students to collect old newspapers and magazines and donated the same to Shantai Vidyaadhar Project, Belagavi. Shantai Vidyaadhar Project supports students, who cannot afford to pay the fees towards their education. There are many examples of such students, who completed their Engineering, Medical and other degrees with the help of this initiative.

First year students of KLS IMER had an opportunity to interact with Mr. Prasad Desai, alumnus of KLS IMER (Batch 2017-19). Mr. Prasad Desai is working as Sales Officer at VE Commercial Vehicles Limited, Bengaluru-A Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Joint Venture. He shared his experience of his student life at IMER and importance of participating in various real time research projects, industry assignments apart from mandatory academic activities. Awareness campaign on “Single use plastic and its impact on environment”

Centre for Ethics and Social Responsibility, KLS IMER Belagavi organized awareness campaign on “Single use plastic and its impact on environment” on Thursday 24th October 2019. MBA first year students planned and executed the campaign, which covered various busy localities of Belagavi city namely, Shahapur, Khasbag, Bogarves and other market places.

KLS IMER Toastmasters Club gets officially chartered on 9th Feb. 2019. The need for such an organisation in the city of Belagavi was first perceived by Mr. Rajendra Belgaumkar, Chairman-Governing Council of KLS IMER. The concept became a reality with the momentum driven by Dr. Kamalakar Achrekar, renowned urologist of Belagavi.

KLS IMER promoted cashless economy in Rural Areas of Belagavi

KLS IMER conducted an extension activity to promote digital economy/cashless economy as a part of Vittiya Saksharata Abhiyan of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. IT team with 35 students visited rural places like Honga, Hattargi and Yamkanmardi.

EMPOWERING WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

KLS IMER AND AVISHKAAR jointly organized a one day workshop on 03/12/16, for women entrepreneurs titled “Empowering Women Entrepreneurs”. Dr. Purushotham Bung and Dr. Kirti Shivakumar were the resource persons for the workshop. The objective of the workshop was to help women entrepreneurs to understand what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur and also help them to understand how to use information technology tools and social media for business. The workshop was inaugurated by Shri. Rajendra Belgaumkar, Entrepreneur and Chairman, GC of IMER inaugurated the workshop.

STARTUP MEET AT KLS - IMER

SANDBOX IMER conducted a startup meet for the budding business entrepreneurs of Belagavi on 26th Nov. 2016 at SANDBOX IMER Incubation Center, Hindwadi Belagavi.

Outbound Training Programme – 2016

A three day experiential learning workshop was organized for the students of semester 1 at Century Resorts, Dandeli on November 19th to 21st, 2016. Dr. Kirti Shivakumar, Professor and a group of student volunteers organized the workshop.

Best HR Project Award 2016

CII Karnataka Chapter had organized best HR Project 2016 under the banner of their college connect Programme for B-Schools in Karnataka on 05-11-2016.Four teams from KLS IMER participated in the same. Mrs. Shailaja Hiremath guided and accompanied the teams.

Centre for Peace celebrated 147th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji. Prof. A.K. Mense, Principal, GSS College, Belagavi gave a key note address on “Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy in today’s context” and highlighted various problems that India is facing today.

26th Foundation Day

KLS IMER celebrated 26th Foundation Day, a flagship event, on 16th September 2016, which coincide with the 100th Birth Anniversary of Late Shri. Raosaheb Gogte, the patron of Karnatak Law Society.

Aarambh 2016

The inauguration function of Aarambh 2016 - Orientation Programme for MBA (2016 - 18 batch) was organized on 1st September 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Shri. Jayant Humbarwadi, Joint Managing Director, Ashok Iron Group, Belagavi was the Chief Guest. Shri. Rajendra K. Medicinal Plant Awareness Programme

Centre for Peace at KLS IMER organized a guest lecture on Medicinal Plant Awareness programme on 16th July 2016. Dr. Shalini Bhagwat of Shri. B. M. Kankanwadi Ayurveda Mahavidhyalaya was invited as the speaker. She gave a description of plants with medicinal properties found in and around Belagavi and how they can be put to best of the medicinal use.

KLS IMER accredited with "A" grade by NAAC

KLS IMER is accredited with "A" Grade by NAAC.The Institution secured the cumulative weighted average score of 3.24.

NAAC peer team visited KLS IMER on 6th and 7th June, 2016 for Institutional Assessment and Accreditation.

PGCET/KMAT Crash Course 2016

The Institute inaugurated a one week crash course at its premises in Belagavi for the students who wished to appear for the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) 2016 and Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) 2016.

KLS IMER conducts Antaraprerana-2016

Antaraprerana is a flagship annual Business Plan competition of the institute. The objective of this event is to promote entrepreneurial spirit among the student community by encouraging students to prepare business plan, which they can realize in coming future, by considering all aspects involved in creating a new business or rebuilding the existing one. The competition comprises of three rounds: Pitching; Presentation of Business Plan; Prototype presentation.

A unique rejuvenation programme "Mastermind" at KLS IMER

Over 30 entrepreneurs, who successfully completed a unique business rejuvenation programme “Mastermind” to rejig their business fortunes, and their mentor, Mumbai-based well-known corporate Guru, Anil Thomas, shared a few real life tips with Business Owners/Leaders and aspiring Entrepreneurs here on 30th April, 2016.

SIP – 2016

KLS IMER organized Superlative Internship Project – 2016 a flagship event of the institute on Saturday the 23rd April 2016 for final year MBA students who have completed their internship projects. Final semester MBA students from all over Karnataka participated in the event.

III Session on Employability Quotient and what Industry expects from MBA was organized on 16th April 2016 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The resource person for the session was Mr. Prashant Mahiskar, Senior Manager, Aurangabad Electrical Ltd. The session was conducted for the 2nd and 4th Semester students. Mr. Prashant Mahiskar spoke on the expectation of the industry from MBA graduates and the skills they need to possess to achieve success at their workplace.

KLS IMER organized III Session on "Spirituality at Work Place" on 13th April 2016. Mr. Manoj Ambike, Trainer, Management Consultant & Author was the resource person for the session. The session was focused on importance of spirituality in work life.

Parent Teachers Meet

The Institute organized a Parent Teachers Meet on 5th April 2016. On this occasion parents were briefed about the recent developments at the Institute and certificate courses on Entrepreneurship and Supply Chain Management introduced for the students. There was fruitful interaction between Parents & teachers. Shri Rajendra Belgaumkar, Chairman, GC, KLS IMER, in his presidential remarks highlighted on how IMER is different from other management institutes. Good number of parents attended the meet.

Workshop on Communication and Leadership Skills

A workshop on Communication and Leadership Skills for career enhancement of second semester MBA students was conducted at KLS IMER. Ignite Career Confidence Pvt. Ltd., based in USA and Bangalore was invited to conduct the workshop for students. The workshop was conducted from 4th April to 7th April 2016.

BSE award received by KLS IMER student

Mr. Sagar Thorushe of MBA 3rd Semester was presented an award by Bombay Stock Exchange on 23rd March 2016 for topping the online simulation exercise, hosted by imoneyplant of Dyota Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The online exercise was conducted as a part of financial literacy enhancement exercise for the students of MBA and subsequently he was declared as the winner.

SAMAGAM – 2016 concludes in a unique way

KLS IMER recently organized an innovative management fest for undergraduate students on March 18th and 19th. Twenty colleges from Karnataka and Goa participated in this event. The theme was Start up India, Skill Up India. The First year MBA students organized the event. The event had many interesting competitions called Sampoorna (Best Entrepreneur), Samaarambh (Ice Breaker), Samskruthi (Cultural Programme), Samaajayojana (Social Responsibility), Samshodh (Treasure Hunt), and Samaachar (Press Meet).

KLS IMER emerges as the general champions of "GALACTO" at GBS

At the recently held national level inter collegiate competition "GALACTO" organized by Global Business School, MBA College, Hubali, on 10th to 13th March, 2016, KLS IMER emerged as the General Champions by bagging three top spots. Mr. Nikhil Panari and Ms. Monica Soni won the first prize for the Marketing Round. Mr. Ameet Machakanur and Mr. Rohit Hangirekar won the runners up trophy in Quiz. Mr. Vineet Revankar, Mr. Sameer Bhukebhag, Mr. Vishal Potdar, Mr. Kiran Badasad, Ms. Shradha Suryavanshi, Mr. Govind Kolvekar, Ms. Rasika Dhamanekar and Mr. Alankar Kakade along with the above mentioned students won the first prize in the Cultural Round.

Talk on Chanakya and his Management Ideas

Prof. Radhakrishnan Pillai, Founder – Director of Chanakya Institute of Public leadership (CIPL), Mumbai, delivered a talk on ‘Chanakya and his Management Ideas’ on Wednesday, 9th March 2016 at KLS IMER. Prof. Pillai is a well known management speaker, trainer, author, columnist, consultant and a visiting faculty at prestigious institutes across the globe. He is the author of the best- seller 'Corporate Chanakya'. 200 plus participants attended the Talk including members of TiE-Hubli, Students of management and commerce of various Institutes, Entrepreneurs, Practitioners, Consultants, Academicians and Businesspersons of Belagavi.

Mr. IMER & Mr. Gladiator - 2016

Institute organized "Mr. Gladiator – 2016", KLS – Inter Institutional Top – 10 Body Building Competition and "Mr. IMER – 2016", District level Inter- collegiate Body Building Competition, in association with BDBBA to encourage upcoming body builders of Belagavi District. The main purpose behind organizing this competition is to promote fitness and gym culture among the students and to motivate them to participate in internal and external body building competition.

Workshop on Business Vision and Mission

Dr. Poornima M. Charantimath, Professor, KLS IMER, conducted a workshop on Business Vision and Mission for Ultra Tech Cement Limited, Awarpur Cement Works on 19th and 20th February 2016. Around 35 people participated in the workshop and she has received good feedback for the consultancy assignment.

KLS IMER begins its Silver Jubilee celebrations with the YOGA LOGIK concert

Institute hosted the Yoga Logik Music band on 14th Feb. 2016 as its campus. Yoga Logik is an Austrian/Indian music band that melts Indian classical and folk with western contemporary music into their unique style. Most lyrics are based on poems by Sufi saints like Sant Kabir and Amir Khusro. The band features Vineet Alurkar, Bhupal Limaye (from India), Wolfgang Sambs, Sebastian Weiss, Martin Berauer, Michael Liebetseder (all from Austria).

Talk on Networking and Mentoring

TiE–Hubli in association with its educational partner, KLS IMER, Belagavi, had organized a talk on “Scaling up Business via Networking & Mentoring” by Mr. Kanwal Rekhi, a successful American Business man, Entrepreneur, Angel Investor and Co-founder TiE on Saturday, 23rd January, 2016 at KLS IMER. 250 plus participants including members of TiE-Hubli, Industrialists across sectors, Doctors, Chartered Accountants, Academicians and Students attended the Talk.

KLS IMER to implement Outcome Based Education platform

Institute has signed an agreement with e-Sutra Chronicles Pvt. Ltd. on 13/01/2016 for deployment of Outcome based education platform ‘Contineo’, Shri. Rajendra Belgaumkar, Chairman, GC, KLS IMER and Mr. Sudhindra Mokhasi, CEO, e-Sutra Chronicles executed the agreement. Director Dr. Purushottam Bung briefed about the importance of deploying Campus Management System.

The Research Centre of KLS IMER, Belagavi organized two days workshop on writing Research Papers and Drafting Proposals in Social Sciences on 12th and 13th January, 2016.

Head - HR, NDTS India (P) Ltd, Mumbai and alumnus of KLS IMER, on 4th January 2016 at 11.30 a.m. She addressed students on "Designing Salary Structure and Application of Quantitative Techniques in HR" She explained the components of Salary like Basic, DA, Special Allowances, HRA and so on and the significance of those components from statutory benefits, social security and taxation point of view.

One day workshop on People Management Skills

KLS IMER and Dalmia Bharat Cement jointly conducted a one day workshop on People Management Skills, called ARIVU – the urge to know and grow. The workshop was conducted on 26/12/2015 in KLS IMER and was coordinated by Dr. Kirti Shivakumar, Professor and M. S. Krishna, General Manager (HR). 30 HR Managers and Executives from various companies in and around Belagavi like Dalmia Cement, JSW Cement, UNI VTL Precision Ltd., and BRDS MSW students took the benefit of the interactive one day workshop. Mr. Sridhar, Dr. Purushotham Bung, and Dr. Kirti were the resource persons for this workshop. Mr. Anil Mishra from Dalmia Cements inaugurated the workshop.
