Insightful Session on "Careers in Travel and tourism Development"

On Friday 7 th March 2025 , KLS’s IMER MBA college hosted an informative session on "Careers in Travel and Tourism Development," featuring the esteemed Mr. Umakant Vinayak Tasgaonkar - member of Advisory Board ITDC, Govt. of India as the resource person. With his vast experience in the tourism industry, Mr. Tasgaonkar provided a comprehensive and inspiring discourse on the numerous career opportunities within the field of travel and tourism.

During the session, he highlighted the diverse job prospects in sectors such as religious tourism (Char Dham Yatra, Kumbh Mela), business tourism, health tourism, airline ticketing, cargo management, foreign travel visa procedures, hotel industry careers, and currency exchange expertise for international tours. He emphasized how these domains offer vast career potential for management students.

Furthermore, he encouraged students to pursue IATA certifications and specialized training to enhance their industry-relevant skills. Passion, dedication, and continuous learning, he asserted, are the key elements for success in this flourishing sector.

The session was graced by the presence of Mr. Jagdish Kunte, a veteran Cartoonist and the Director of the institute, Dr. Arif Shaikh, who extended a warm welcome to the guests. The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation of students, who gained valuable insights into the dynamic world of tourism and travel. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where Mr. Tasgaonkar addressed students' queries and provided career guidance.
