Faculty Development Programme on Qualitative Research 2025

Five Days Faculty Development Programme on Qualitative Research commenced with great enthusiasm on Thursday, 15 May 2025, at KLS IMER. The event witnessed the participation of faculty members from various institutions, aiming to enhance their understanding and application of qualitative research methodologies in academia.
The inaugural function commenced with a welcome address delivered by the Director of KLS IMER, Dr. Arif Shaikh setting the tone for the programme and appreciating the efforts of FDP coordinators Dr. Sushil Kumar Pare, Dr. Ajay Jamnani, and Prof. Sumanth Desai in recognition of their valuable contributions.
Dr. Nandeesh V. Hiremath, Vice Chairman of AIMS and FDP Knowledge partner delivered a speech that encouraged the attendees to leverage qualitative approaches for meaningful academic contributions. He also extended his support towards funding and applying for grants for hosting various research programs.
Dr. Sushil Kumar Pare, Professor, IMER presented an overview about the Workshop, highlighting the objectives, structure, and key takeaways of the FDP. His address emphasized the need for rigorous qualitative inquiry in today’s dynamic research landscape.
Shri R. S. Mutalik, Chairman-GC, KLS IMER gave the presidential remarks and provided valuable insights into the institutional vision and support for faculty development and research initiatives.
Subsequently, the audience was introduced to resource person Prof. Ravindran K, Former Professor, Tata Institute of Social Science(TISS), Mumbai the key speaker for the day, highlighting his professional journey. Prof Archana Singh, Professor, Tata Institute of Social Science(TISS), Mumbai and Prof. Avinash Jain, Assistant Professor, IIT Delhi would deliver the sessions as resource person for 16 th and 17 th May, 2025
Dr. Ajay Jamnani, Associate professor proposed vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and contributors for making the FDP a success.
