programme titled “Management Meets Humanity”
KLS Institute of Management Education and Research (IMER), Belagavi, organized a meaningful programme titled “Management Meets Humanity” emphasizing stakeholder- driven education with a strong focus on social responsibility. The programme brought together several NGOs from Belagavi, providing them a platform to openly express the challenges, constraints, and ground-level problems they face in their day-to-day operations.
The programme commenced with welcome thoughts and tone-setting remarks by Dr. Arif Shaikh, Director, KLS IMER, who highlighted the importance of integrating empathy, ethics, and social sensitivity into management education.
Representatives from various social organizations candidly shared their operational difficulties, resource limitations, outreach gaps, and sustainability challenges, including issues related to adoption processes, HIV care, elder support, education, and welfare services. Their interactions offered students valuable insights into real-world social problems, inspiring them to apply management concepts with compassion, responsibility, and purpose.
The participating NGOs included Ashraya Foundation, Kiaan HIV Children, Shantai Vruddha Ashram, Gangamma Chikkumbimath Foundation, Samruddh Foundation, Sanjeevani Foundation, Anand Yatri, Bajirao Appa Foundation, and Siddharth Boarding School.
As part of the Community Engagement Project (CEP) course, KLS IMER students will work closely with these NGOs to understand their challenges in depth and develop practical, sustainable, and impact-oriented solutions.
The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. Sushil Kumar Pare and Dr. Ajay Jamnani, reaffirming KLS IMER’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible and community-driven management professionals.
